David Silver


Author of Quantum Companies II, a description of the 100 best small companies in the U.S., is an investment banker to rapidly-emerging, financially-strapped and acquisition-oriented companies. Since forming his own investment banking firm in 1972, Silver has raised over $1 billion for 350 companies ranging from raw start-ups to $150 million (sales) companies in industries as diverse as Internet software and health insurance. Companies that need to generate cash quickly are his stock in trade as well as those that need to negotiate terms with creditors or to develop and implement a new strategic plan. Silver’s clients have included ActMedia, Intrliant, News Corporation, Megsinet, Interland, Xing Technology and Catalog.com among others.

Prior to forming his own investment banking firm, Silver was an associate in the Corporate Finance Department of Kuhn, Loeb & Co., now a part of Lehman Brothers, and a commercial banker with Chase Manhattan Bank. Silver has served as an advisor to the U.S. Congress Committee on Technology & Innovation, has advised 10 different state governments on the creation of flourishing entrepreneurial communities, and he founded the “I Have A Dream” Chapter in Santa Fe. He is a Director of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship to Handicapped and Disadvantaged Youth.


Silver has contributed numerous articles to business magazines and given hundreds of seminars around the world sponsored by the White House, AT&T;, Coopers and Lybrand, Price Waterhouse, Malaysian Airlines, Boustead Holdings, Volvo, and others. Silver has written 30 books and produced four audio cassettes on the subject of entrepreneurship. In addition, he is a columnist for both Forbes and Boardwatch. George Gilder, author of Wealth & Poverty, calls Silver “our USA Today says, “If entrepreneurship is a religion, then Silver is its high priest.” The New York Public Library gave one of Silver’s books, Entrepreneurial Megabucks, to the valedictorians of New York City’s 119 high schools in 1986, along with Faust and The Bible. A financial newsletter, The Ruff Times, said of Silver’s book, When The Bottom Drops, “it is the best book ever written for helping business people solve financial crises.” Silver’s book, The Inside Raider, was a MacMillan Business Book Club main selection, and it has been widely acclaimed. His Turnaround and Survival Guide, and Strategic Partnering were Fortune Book Club Main Selections. His recent articles have appeared in Forbes, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Best’s Review, and The Journal of Accountancy.

Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, Silver graduated from the University of Chicago with B.A. and M.B.A. degrees, and currently resides with his wife and children in Santa Fe, New Mexico.


Maggie Raznick


Vice President, heads up Santa Fe’s merger and acquisition department, where she has played a pivotal role in dozens of deals including Applied Theory’s acquisition of Custom Net, the sale of Lyceum Internet to PSInet and the strategic alliance between Teleglobe and Catalog.com to name a handful. “Maggie’s skills are particulary strong in knowing where to go with a deal and how to maximmize price,” said one ISP owner earlier this year. Maggie’s active client involvements include RMInet, PSInet, Advancenet, Teleglobe and Interliant with which she has developed “speed-dial” relationships at the most senior level. Maggie joined Santa Fe Capital Group in 1998. Prior thereto she held positions of increasing responsibility with Bios, Inc., a Santa Fe think-tank, and PNM, Inc., Albuquerque. Maggie earned a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from The Anderson School of Business at the University of New Mexico.

Robin Vlosky


Director of Marketing, joined Santa Fe Capital Group in 1999, where she has been continually responsible for new business developement. Robin played a decisive role in identifying a $40 million source of capital for Santa Fe’s largest deal, the $80 million buy-out of GST’s Hawaiian Telecom assets by MBN Communications Group, Inc., a Maui start-up. In the ISP roll-up field, few investment banks even come close to Santa Fe’s track record, and Robin has been a critical player. She pulled together Northern Rockies sellers for One West, the Jackson Hole, Wy. roll-up group; for Bluegrassnet, the Lousville, KY ISP roll-up company and she has located West of the Mississippi sellers for RMI.net. Robin came to Santa Fe right out of St.Johns College, where she is earning a Masters degree in Liberal Arts.

Carmela Nino


Administrative Manager, Carmela joined the firm in 1992 and has held a progression of increasingly important positions culminating with all administrative management. Carmela is a frequent attendee at Internet Trade Shows and has a keen ability to spot emerging technologies that Santa Fe sometime backs. An example is the firm’s good fortune in Carmela bringing Liv4now into the Santa Fe portfolio of clients. Carmela is completing her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the University of New Mexico.
