David SilverDavid is the founder and CEO of Sante Fe Capital.  Over the past 40 years, he has been instrumental in over $1.0 billion in capital raises, ranging from raw start-ups to $150 million (sales) companies in industries as diverse as internet software and health insurance.    He is also an angel investor and strategic advisor to rapidly-emerging, financially-strapped and acquisition-oriented companies.

He is the author of 32 books on entrepreneurship and finance, most of which showcase his experiences and stories from the more than 350 companies he has served.

Prior to forming Sante Fe Capital Group in 1981, David was an associate in the Corporate Finance Department of Kuhn, Loeh & Co., now a part of Lehman Brothers, and a commercial banker with Chase Manhattan Bank.

He served as an advisor to the U.S. Congress Committee on Technology and Innovation, has advised 10 different state governments on the creation of flourishing entrepreneurial communities, contributed numerous articles to business magazines and given hundreds of seminars around the world sponsored by the White House, AT&T, Coopers & Lybrand, Price Waterhouse, Malaysian Airlines, Boustead Holdings, Volvo and others.

As part of his quest to share knowledge and experience, he also founded the “I Have a Dream” Chapter in Sante Fe, New Mexico and is a Director of the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship to Handicapped and Disadvantaged Youth.

Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee, David graduated from the University of Chicago with B.A. and M.B.A. degrees, and currently lives in Northern New Mexico, where he and his wife produced, in his opinion, New Mexico’s finest pinot noir.
